swine flu worries or dangers?
i heard it has a mortality rate of 30 percent is that true. when only 150 people have died and 2 in the usa. do alot of people survive the swine flu?
The percentage is far below but sf (swine flu) is a notorious / dangerous pandemic disease (the pandemic level already rose to 5). We are not worried or panic but we are alert.
Swine flu, is a respiratory disease caused by type A influenza virus. As with other influenza viruses, swine flu viruses change constantly and different variations have emerged since they were identified. People who are infected with Swine flu viruses usually have direct exposure to infected pigs / infected persons. When Swine flu viruses from different species infect pigs they can "swap genes" causing “new viruses to emerge”.
Swine flu outbreaks spark high levels of illness in human but low death rates in pigs. There are four different drugs used to treat swine flu infections in humans. The most recent seven swine influenza viruses isolated from humans are resistant to two of the drugs.
